We encourage you to share in your student's discovery of KU life by attending Orientation. We recognize that going to college is a new chapter in your life as well as your student's. We appreciate the importance of these relationships and hope to foster them in the university environment. Our goal is to be your partner in supporting your student as he/she establishes connections with the educational community.

Parents and guests are an important part of Orientation so we provide guests a separate orientation from their student with sessions and activities designed especially for you. While your student is busy learning about life as a Jayhawk, we will talk with you about your student’s general education and graduation requirements, registration, transition issues, and life at KU.

If your student is a freshman, we offer a two-day orientation program in June and July.

If your student will be transferring from another college or university, we offer one-day programs in June and July.

If your student absolutely cannot make a program in June or July, we offer a one-day program in August.
